Dirty Haggard 386

Based in Portland, Oregon, Dirty Haggard offers is a boutique builder offering an array of guitar pedals from the affordable to the mid-priced. The 386 is the company’s most affordable product, a 3-knob distortion selling at $75.

Based on a circuit using two LM386 power amp chips, the 386 is a high-gain distortion with a High filter borrowed from the RAT circuit (including the reversed operation with brightest setting all the way ccw).

According to the builder, the 386 can get you “super hairy distortion with single-coil pickups, metal-sounding with humbuckers.”

The 386 is a distortion pedal using two LM386 power amp chips. The gain control ranges from moderate overdrive to heavy distortion. The ‘highs’ control is just like the filter on a Rat.
