The Wampler Germanium Tumnus is the third variant of one of (if not THE) best-selling pedal by the Indiana-based pedal builder, a device voiced after the infamous Klon Centaur.
As you may have guessed, this versiuon differs from the previous two because of it uses a Germanium diode – but that’s not any diode: it’s the same one found in the original Klon, dubbed by the experts “unobtanium” for its unavailability by the creator of the original circuit, Bill Finnegan.
Company owner Brian Wampler was able to put his hands on a stash of those diodes and embed them in a limited edition version of the Tumnus. You can hear the results in the videos below.
