An updated mod of the company’s Katzenkonig, the Catalinbread Blood Donor is the fuzzy circuit marriage of a Tone Bender MKII and a Pro Co Rat, reimagined. Besides improving the pedal’s noise floor compared to the original, the company mostly focused on making it more extreme and flexible at once:
We’ve added a carefully selected transistor set that pushes the boundaries of saturation and gain to their electrical limits, giving the old cat a little more fur and bite.
In case you are wondering what each knob does:
Please = Filter
Give = Gain
Your = Output
Blood = Input
The Portland company will donate 100% of the pedal’s profits to the Red Cross. Here are a few videos.
Blood Donor is a revamped and fine-tuned version of our venerable Katzenkonig with a slew of changes that truly unlocks the circuit’s potential. We’ve added a carefully selected transistor set that pushes the boundaries of saturation and gain to their electrical limits, giving the old cat a little more fur and bite. The noise floor has been trimmed while widening the utility of all controls, giving an increased range of input sensitivity that mimics the volume knob on your guitar. Get into it! And give blood!
