The Old Blood Noise Endeavors BL-52 Phase Repeater is the 2023 addition to the company’s quirky BL Series, a line of pedals sharing a diagonal fader control named “Clock.”
Not your regular phaser, the BL-52 is actually a repeater of phase, an effect OBNE claims is unique to this pedal, and that sounds like a mix of phaser and reverb, “almost like a room constantly changing in size and materials, with a clear repeat one moment and a diffuse repeat the next.”
The core of the effect, as you may have guessed, is the Clock fader, which controls the timing of the circuit creating faster or shorter delay repeats, but also affecting their quality, from clear (when short) to diffuse (when longer).
The Feedback knob allows lengthening the decay of the delay, while Volume and Mix do exactly what’s expected of them.
