The EHX Blurst is the Best Looking Pedal of NAMM 2017

I had a friend in high school who would just buy some records (from the equivalent of the $1 bin) for their covers. Even though I’ve never done anything like that, this idea has been slowly growing on me: beautiful art makes things more desirable and therefore more valuable.

In this regard, the Electro-Harmonix Blurst Modulated Filter looks very attractive to me. Those beautiful bright colors must awaken a subconscious instinct developed by my ancestors when they were searching for bright fruits in a sea of green… yes because, rather than hearing it, I feel the desire to eat it (although I would leave the eye bulb alone…).

I actually had a grapefruit curd tart last week that had those same exact colors – it was delicious, and, now that I think about it… we are Delicious Audio after all, aren’t we?

This pedal looks so delicious that we are going to create a new award just for it, and declare it the “Best Looking Pedal of NAMM 2017.”

In case you are wondering what it does, it’s basically a synth-like low pass filter/modulation for guitar:

The Blurst modulates an instrument’s sound like an envelope filter, but instead of the filter’s response being controlled by playing dynamics, it’s controlled by an internal oscillator.

On top of the typical filter controls (resonance, rate, frequency range),  Tap tempo and divide, three Expression Pedal modes and blend control nicely round up this stompbox, which was create with the adventurous guitarist in mind.
