Programmable pedals are not new at this point in time, but the (stereo) OPFXS V-Uno takes things to the next level in this category, allowing full configuration of knobs, footswitch, and external expression pedal to the available parameters.
The device comes with a library of 30 stereo effects (including almost all the OPFXS effects made so far (Dig Deep, Cometa and Asteroide and an IR loader) configurable via PC or Android. It is also possible to use one knob to control 2 or more parameters and reverse one of them!
As you can see in the image below, the only elements that are not configurable are the in and outs and the bypass switch.
We believe the pedal can run only one effect at a time, check out the videos of it!
OPFXS V-Uno Reprogrammable Guitar Pedal, Builder’s Notes
V-Uno is a compact reprogrammable pedal. Connect it via USB to Win, MacOS, Android devices and download one from a list of 30+ effects currently available.
Each effect can be custom configured by assigning knobs, footswitch and external expression pedal to parameters available.
The software application can run on Windows, MacOS…
…and Android devices equipped with USB OTG.
It includes almost all the OPFXS effects made so far (Dig Deep, Cometa and Asteroide) and a lot more.
Check the list of available effects.
Control parameters directly from editor or assign them to V-Uno physical controls
V-Uno has 4 types of physical controls which can be assigned to a parameter:
I, II and III knobs
SW footswitch
EXP/CV input to connect an expression pedal or drive with a control voltage
Rremote/GATE inputs to connect up 2 remote footswitch or drive with a control voltage
You can also use one knob to control 2 or more parameters and reverse one of them!
Here we assigned both Speed and Depth to knob I and reversed Depth so that when you turn knob I up Speed goes faster and Depth amplitude decreases.
It’s possible to connect up to 2 external footswitches and 1 expression pedal, and they are fully assignable too.
You can also input control voltages from an external source to control parameters.
All the functions can be saved to V-Uno which will recall the uploaded effect with your custom settings at power on.
V-Uno can be powered either from USB and standard 9v DC PSU (center negative).
V-Uno input and output are both stereo (but not all the effects will have stereo configurations).
3 LEDs allows to check the status of the pedal. The red LED is a simple bypass indicator. The orange LED is usually configured to check the status of SW footswitch while the blue LED is effect dependant, it can show the rate of LFO for a modulation effect or light up when a threshold is reached within a dynamic processor.
