MXR Booster Mini Boost

https://www.jimdunlop.com Available Here http://proguitarshop.com/mxr-m293-booster-mini.html Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today we’re kicking things up a notch with the MXR Booster Mini. The Booster Mini is a deceptively simple all-in-one tonal flavor enhancer that combines two tried-and-true circuits in one tiny enclosure. Both the mojo of the MXR Echoplex Preamp and the raw power of the MXR Micro Amp are found side by side, with the Echoplex pre running into the teeth of the Micro Amp. The Volume control on the front controls the volume for the Micro Amp side, while a master Tone control enables a high-cut to filter out any unwelcome high frequencies generated by the circuit pair. The Echoplex pre side of the Booster Mini is controlled by an internal trimpot, which you can adjust with a screwdriver. This lets you precisely tailor the Echoplex's FET circuit to add subtle comp and grit to your guitar before it heads to the booster side. The Micro Amp side gives you 25 decibels of sparkling clean boost that’s been pushing amps into the red since the late ‘70s. The Micro Amp’s boost is clean enough to use at any position on your pedalboard when a little extra power is needed. Put it after delays and reverbs to give your amp what-for, or try placing it between dirt layers to push your favorite gain pedals into musical saturation. And just like all MXR pedals, the Booster Mini is manufactured right here in the USA.

Salt Cathedral’s Live Rig

This is a cool interview by REMEZCLA with synth pop duo Salt Cathedral about their gear and live show set up. This is a really talented, Brooklyn based band hailing from Columbia that has been covered extensively in our sister blog The Deli NYC. https://www.youtube.com/embed/T3m4YecxdnE The pedals they use are mostly for vocals, but it's always a pleasure to see how very creative people approach their gear set up.... Black Cat OD-Fuzz Deluxe

http://www.blackcatpedals.com/ http://proguitarshop.com/black-cat-od-fuzz-deluxe.html Next, Proguitarshop and Tonereport.com we're getting a look at the OD-Fuzz Deluxe from Black Cat Pedals. The OD-Fuzz Deluxe is a dual pedal that combines Black Cat's modern classic OD-1 overdrive with an all-new Fuzz Face variant that Black Cat developed exclusively for this pairing. The Fuzz Face side is engineered to stack well with the OD-1 in any order, and features a switch that changes the first transistor from a BC109 silicon to a medium-gain germanium transistor for some classic goodness. This germanium front end reacts extremely well when the OD-1 is pushing it, creating a compressed wall of vintage dirt. The Fuzz Face side also includes a re-worked biasing circuit that dramatically changes the flavor of the fuzz beyond a dying-battery sputter. The OD-1 side is an original circuit, which is centered around a high-quality OP275 op-amp. The OD-1 was built around the unique musical properties of this chip for a truly unique overdrive experience that responds well to picking attack and your guitar's controls. The centrally-located toggle switch gives you even more versatility by letting you select the order of the stacking. Using this order switcher drastically alters the sound of the OD-Fuzz Deluxe by letting you use the first pedal's volume knob as a saturation knob and the second pedal's volume as a master volume. This opens up the sonic palette of the pedal significantly for almost infinite tonal combinations. And just like all Black Cat pedals, the OD-Fuzz Deluxe is built by real humans right here in the USA.
