SoundLad Liverpool Sketchy

The SoundLad Liverpool Sketchy is by far the most fun pedal released so far in 2025 – and maybe this whole decade. Inspired by the immortal ‘Etch A Sketch’ toy, this is a tremolo pedal like no other. And, of course, a retro sounding one.

If you wonder if this device’s Etch A Sketch functionality is somehow recreated, the answer is a resounding YES! A built-in waveform editor lets you create your own waveforms for the tremolo’s LFO.

The two white knobs also allow navigation through the software’s many features, with the aid of a large color LCD screen and two footswitches that also deal with On/Off, Preset navigation, and Tap Tempo duties.

Utilizing a digital VCA with an analog signal path, The Sketchy offers separate tone stacks for each mode, numerous preset slots, and a built-in waveform plotter. With a top speed of 21.16 waves per second, it creates unique crushed and rhythmic textures, while a minimum speed of one wave every 10 seconds (6 BPM) enables dynamic EQ wave effects in harmonic tremolo mode.

An adjustable crossover frequency and internal summing provide tonal balance, making it ideal for extreme settings. Best suited for high-headroom clean inputs, it offers a unique tremolo experience for guitarists, bassists, and synth players. With 27V headroom and internal trim for hot inputs, this pedal ensures versatility, precision, and endless creative possibilities.
