Croatian pedal builder PLBR Effects likes its effects filled with tonal options, and the Floral Green Overdrive handsomely showcases this.
It’s a TS styled 2 channel mid-boosting overdrive offering 8 different clipping variations and two selectable gain channels, with 3 frequency modes for each channel. The two channels can’t be stacked but only alternated through the Gain A/B footswitch.
Summing it up, this is how this pedal works:
Gain A is a lower gain channel and Gain B offers a high-gain distortion mode.
Clipping (the 8-way rotary knob on the left) affects both channels and determines the nature of the drive, offering everything from tight compressed, clean transparent boosts to open crunchy overdrive goodness. Here are the 8 modes:
1 – silicon/schottky asymmetrical clipping
2 – silicon diodes clipping
3 – silicon/LED asymmetrical clipping
4 – LED clipping
5 – LED clipping
6 – germanium clipping
7 – mosfet/silicon asymmetrical clipping
8 – no diodes
Each clipping option affects the volume of the pedal differently and has a different frequency response.
On top of that, each gain channel has three modes:
GAIN A MODES:
Standard: mid-boosted tone
Fat: more bass-boosted tone
Fat2: even more bass-boosted tone
GAIN B MODES:
Standard: mid-boosted tone
Fat: more bass-boosted tone
Gain: High gain option
