The sonic answer to its sibling YES (a dynamic yet gnarly gated fuzz), the Mask Audio Electronics NO is a chaotic fuzz based on a circuit using cascaded octave generators. Both pedals are handmade in small batches.
Equally grating on bass or guitar, the NO delivers octave-rich, thick fuzz. The intensity of the octave can be changed through the toggle switch, which increases the intensity of the second octave generator.
The two knobs set the amount of bass going into the first octave generator (“Thud” – or “More” knob: in previous versions) and controls the overall output (“Loud” knob).

Mask Audio Electronics NO, Builder’s Notes
NO. comes deep from my pedal roots. From a time when internet forums ruled the pedal zeitgeist and the two knob fuzz had room to be explored. With cascaded octave generators NO. brings the chaos. Thick and with an ever-present octave-up. Still made in small batches by hand but offered at a price that all can afford.
Controls:
MORE: Sets the amount of bass going into the first octave generator. Acts somewhat like a gain control.
LOUD: Overall volume. This one gets loud quick.
PAIN (switch) : intensity of the second octave generator.Uses standard Boss style power supply (9VDC 2.1mm center negative) and top-mounted jacks.
