We found this cool video by Reverb.com about how to get Jimi Hendrix’s guitar sound and thought our readers might appreciate, check it out!
In our latest edition of Potent Pairings, we’re taking a stab at the legendary recorded tones of Jimi Hendrix, using modern pedals. While Jimi’s famous live tones rode to the outer edge of the scorching sonic solar system, those found on his studio releases cover a varied and highly innovative landscape. With this video, we’ll showcase how a finely tuned selection of pedals can be deployed to capture this iconic sound set even without dishing out the thousands you’d need to replicate Jimi’s exact rig. Keep in mind that the pedals used here are great options, but are not the only ones you can use to achieve the same effect.
