In this popular article (one of the most popular in our blog) we explained how having a graphic EQ pedal in your effect chain can open up a lot of tonal options, in particular when it interacts with your gain stompboxes and amp. The EQ pedal used as an example in that piece was the classic BOSS GE-7, a rather simple graphic EQ stompbox, which can boost and cut 15db over seven frequencies across the sonic spectrum, and also features a +/- 15db level fader.
BOSS’s new EQ-200 Graphic Equalizer takes that concept and brings it to modern (and digital) times with an expanded 10 band graphic EQ, 4 presets, an LCD screen, 32bit/96KHz sample rate processing, Two EQ Channels for instant A/B switching, and full connectivity to outside sources through Midi, Expression, extra external footswitches and several routing options.
The two channels can be run one after the other in Series Mode, which basically allows you to shape your basic tone with one and set up the second for solos or additional sound shaping, or simultaneously panned to the left and right in Stereo Mode.

Save and Recall Your Favorite Setups
The EQ-200 offers four onboard memories, allowing you to save favorite setups for install recall. There’s also a Manual setting that reflects the current panel settings, essentially giving you a fifth setup to choose from. You can scroll through memories with an EQ-200 footswitch, and it’s even possible to limit the scrolling range or assign memories directly for faster access while performing.
