Turbo Fruit's new album 'No Control' sees the Nashville quartet tackle more "adult" themes like relationships, break-ups and losses, conveying a full range of not-so-fun emotion without ever giving up their signature, punchy rock'n'roll sound. While on tour with Eternal Summers and Surfer Blood, front man Jonas Stein answered a few questions about the creative process of being in a band:

In an industry overflowing with boutique pedal manufacturers, Matthews Effects has delivered two very interesting products with with their Conductor Tremolo and Cartographer parametric overdrive pedal. The Cartographer is capable of delivering everything one could want in an overdrive pedal – clean boost with the gain down and tube amp-like saturation when driving the pedal.
Where the Cartographer truly shines is in the innovation of the parametric EQ control. Unlike most other drive pedals that offer a singular 'tone' knob to affect highs and lows, the Cartographer offers two controls for the EQ – frequency (ranging from 100Hz-4kHz) and boost/cut of the chosen band.

With their sophisticated, bi-lingual synthpop, full of texture and pretty melodies, Puerto Rican duo Buscabulla - now Brooklyn residents - conquered The Deli NYC's staff, who declared their debut EP "Kitsune`" NYC Record of the Month in October 2014. We asked Raquel and Luis a few questions about their gear and creative process.... Click on the title for more
Wisconsin' s McCaffrey Audio may sound like a new name in the world of guitar pedals, but the company's CEO and founder Ryan McCaffrey is not a novice to the manufacturing game, having been running RJM Effect before starting this new adventure in 2014.
The company's goal is to create stompboxes inspired to vintage classics, with a sonic signature immediately recognizable as an exact recreation of the originals, but also featuring unique character and features.... Click on the title for more
Finding inspiration in the dancy, angular post-punk of bands like Devo, the early Stranglers, and even Blondie, Brooklyn's Future Punx have delivered with "I'm So Inspired" (recent Deli NYC Record of the Month) one of the most fun NYC albums of 2014 . We asked guitarist Jake Pepper a few questions about the band's creative process.... Click on the title for more
Italian manufacturer (with a base in LA) F-pedals is a brand new company that is a bit of an enigma, yet has some very interesting endeavors underway. At the moment, they sell just two micro pedals (the Edstortion and the Phazevibe) and a line of cables (with great bulk pricing), but they have already signed on world-renowned engineer Eddie Kramer - best known for recording the bulk of Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin albums along with dozens of other iconic classic rockers – to endorse the first two stomp boxes.... It's official: pedal manufacturers are getting creative about their new releases: EarthQuaker Devices might have had a great idea in this regard - one that, considering our sister site The Deli's obsession with musical genres - we fully support.
EQD just announced the release of Levitation, a pedal inspired and dedicated to what was once known as the Austin Psych Fest. There is no need to guess what kind of pedal it is: it's a reverb, the quintessential psychedelic effect.

Howard is a Brooklyn band that plays an atmospheric brand of melodic post-rock (although the band on their Facebook page refers to it as "Folktronica"), where gentle textural experiments, synths, samples, varying percussive elements and electric guitars blend effortlessly, guided by the mellow tenor of singer songwriter/producer Howard Feibusch. The band has been active since 2009 in various forms, and lately came to the indie rock audience's attention through single "Money Can't Buy" (streaming), which early in 2015 gathered more than 2 million plays on Spotify in a matter of weeks. We asked Howard Feibusch a few questions hoping to steal some of his secrets.... Click on the title for more
