Audio Cultivation Project Fourth Distortion

The Audio Cultivation Project Fourth is an overdrive/distortion pedal that combines a hybrid transistor and op-amp design, blending hard clipping and op-amp saturation to emulate the distortion produced by the sought-after vintage solid-state amps of the ’70s like the Music Man 112 RD, Epiphone Studio 10s, and Silvertone 1464.

Initially designed to deliver raw, trashy tones, Fourth has evolved into a highly versatile pedal. What sets it apart is its distinctive breakup, rich harmonic texture, and dynamic response to your playing, making it a standout choice in a crowded market of overdrive pedals.

It features a set of controls that require explanation:

  • Shape is the Tone knob
  • The left toggle is a 3-way gate, deactivated in the up position, it produces extremely choked tones in the middle position and partially gated ones in the lower one.
  • The “arrow down” middle toggle delivers 3 bass EQ curves, preceding the gain stage.
  • Similarly, the “moon” Toggle on the right offers 3 high-end EQ curve options.
