WMD (a name that plays with the two acronyms for Weapons of Mass Destruction and William Mathewson Devices) has been at the vanguard of the stompbox / Eurorack cross-pollination phenomenon, although in recent years they company has been mostly focusing on the modular synth side of things.
In the late aughts, they released a seminal pedal called the Geiger Counter, some sort of signal destroyer driven by a mini-computer gone mad, which anticipated the glitch pedal trend.
William has been working on a “Pro” version of the Geiger Counter since 2011′ 2018 was the year it finally saw the light.
Here’s the demo of it shot directly at our booth at NAMM 2018 – discover more new devices in our comprehensive, interactive page of new pedals announced at NAMM 2018.

Holy smokes Batman! What a super awesome pedal. I spent basically the last 2 days nonstop having fun with my Geiger Counter Pro version (their biggest one with all the knobs, mix knob, filter knob, etc & 16 savable presets for the footbuttons that does everything). I can get every sound I’ve ever wanted & more. Originally I got it to do some atari 8 bit sounds, but it’s so rich & deep that it does atari, fuzz, ring, octave, overdrive, synth, & other goodness. The important thing when trying to find new sounds is to try using a looper with a short riff or a few chords and to be patient trying sounds (gain/bit/sample/mask are interactive once you find your wave table). I’ll never get rid of it.
