Inspired by the name of a secluded Tasmanian beach near the builder’s house, the Van Diemens Red Ochre Deluxe is a high-quality, hand-built Treble-booster recreation available in two colors (Hammered Gold and Hammered Charcoal) with a 3 position rotary or toggle switch offering a few extra voices.
No compromises were made in the parts’ selection, featuring OC44 (when available) or AC107 (standard) transistors, NOS Philips, Mullard mustard and Mullard tropical fish capacitors, NOS Piher and/or Allen Bradley resistors.

Van Diemens Effects Red Ochre Deluxe
Red Ochre is a small, secluded Tasmanian beach, right here in my own backyard, and a favourite place to go and chill, watch the waves roll in and listen to the sounds of the world. The beach itself is really very nice, but not all is as it seems. Red Ochre beach also has a wild side to it with restricted access, rocky outcrops, and high cliffs that can be as treacherous as they are beautiful. The word ochre refers to a natural clay pigment that comes in several colours. Sometimes it’s red, sometimes yellow, and is used by our first nation’s artists in their amazing and beautiful artwork. It is a very powerful medium.
We feel this is a very fitting name for our treble booster.
The Red Ochre Deluxe is our premium Treblebooster. Featuring OC44 (when available) or AC107 (standard) transistors, this Treblebooster also houses a 3 position rotary or toggle switch that offers tone shaping to help you dial in your the perfect amount of bite or grunt. Added to that are a selection of NOS Philips, Mullard mustard and Mullard tropical fish capacitors, NOS Piher and/or Allen Bradley resistors. All of this will be mounted to a hand crafted turret board. We also use Alpha potentiometers, Switchcraft jacks and EHX footswitch. The tone selection switch is either a Central Labs rotary switch or a Carling toggle switch. All of which offers the very best mechanical quality.
