Melodic and atmospheric, Brooklyn's Cold Stone Fox boasts a sound that's multifaceted but extremely balanced. Their latest EP 'Tunnel Vision' harmoniously blends psychedelia with some of that melodic, ethereal but somewhat dark rock of the '80s (we hear a little bit of Simple Minds and The Church). Such well produced sound could not NOT trigger some Delicious Audio questions about their gear...... Click on the title for more
We all know Electro Harmonix for their popular (and growing at breakneck speed) line of guitar pedals, but the Queens, NY based manufacturer has long been flirting with synthesizers too - we had the chance to toy around with one of their old Minisynthesizer at our 2014 Brooklyn Synth Expo.
Back in the late '70s they released a series of peculiar "pedal synths" based on monophonic analog circuits, including the Super Space Drum (optimized for percussive sounds) and the Crash Pad (optimized for electronic cymbal sounds).... Click on the title for more
Venerable New York City pedal manufacturer Electro-Harmonix takes their third foray into the world of keyboard simulation pedals with the release of the Key9. Similar in concept to the previous B9 and C9 offerings, this stompbox offers 9 presets emulating some of the most revered piano and keyboard sounds in music history.... Click on the title for more
Looper pedals are a must-have for any musician to sketch song ideas or jot down acousmatic sounds. EHX is well known for creating the 16-Second Digital Delay (arguably the first delay/looper pedal), as well as the now-discontinued multi-track workhorse 2880. Considered one of the quintessential guitar effects, the Uni-Vibe has had a legendary mystique ever since the great Jimi Hendrix added the psychedelic tones it offers to his classic sound. Electro-Harmonix has been making excellent pedals for years, and it's well-known for designing great modulation pedals in particular.... Click on the title for more
Until recently, the guitarists interested in recreating organ-like sounds had to rely on pitch shifters and whammy effects. Needless to say, although very cool, those effects sound nothing like a real organ. Then Electro Harmonix came out with the B9 Organ Machine...
Today, the NYC based company is raising the bar once again with the newly released C9. Where the B9 featured many types of Hammond sounds, the C9 branches out into many other kinds of organs.... Click on the title for more
Since most of us around here at Delicious Audio are guitar players, we tend to focus mostly on axe stomp boxes, but this week Electro Harmonix came out with some news that will raise the eyebrows of electronic drum and synth gurus as well as vintage gear aficionados. They have has released a circuit-faithful true analog new take on the classic 70s Clockworks rhythm controller which can be used to control sequencer drums, synths, drum machines, and electronic percussion instruments.... The folks at Electro-Harmonix are always working on something. This time it's a new JFET Overdrive unit that they consider to be one of their new flagship devices. This looks to be a well rounded pedal that can achieve all sorts of distorted tones. Under the hood we're looking at a JFET Overdrive with tube-like response and tone, a boost switch with independent Volume and Gain for two-channel flexibility, a 4-way switch Pre-Gain selector with Treble, Middle and Bass tone knobs, as well as an XLR out for use as a stand alone preamp with cab emulation. Exciting stuff! -Gus Green

I had a friend in high school who would just buy some records (from the equivalent of the $1 bin) for their covers. Even though I've never done anything like that, this idea has been slowly growing on me: beautiful art makes things more desirable and therefore more valuable....
