Poppies’ Pedals, Story & Creative Process

Poppies have managed to gain a generous following with their introspective, melodic sound. Singer/guitarist May's childlike, delicate vocals, perfectly blend with the band's enigmatic, dreamy instrumentals. We wanted to dig in to the band's sound and story, and fortunately for us May and Ian (guitar) were eager to talk to us a bit about their creative process and the current gear they're using.... Retail Space’s gear and creative process

Catchy but soulful, vintage but vogue,
Retail Space is a Brooklyn-based duo dropping some highly dynamic music. In a scene that is getting increasingly weary of the neo-psych aesthetic, the band manages to masterfully package synth-y, psych pop vibes with a charming, indie-folk tinge that feels crisp instead of tired. The band, who recorded their most recent release, In the Lotia, using only analog equipment, was kind enough to talk to us about their recording process, their creative process, and of course, the gear that helps drive it all forward.... Check out the full summer issue of The Deli here, the section about pedals starts here, and the latest issue of Gearphoria here (It's all about guitar equipment and the people behind it!). The issue will be available in print in NYC starting August 30, 2016.... Click on the title for more

Salt Cathedral and the creative process

sc_press_photo_2%[1]

If you like the idea of parallel worlds, you should immerse yourself in the music of Brooklyn's (via Colombia) duo Salt Cathedral. Their gently impressionistic arrangements and celestial atmospheres, combined with Juliana Ronderos' angelic voice and melodies, might transport you to the closest thing to the seventh heaven you've ever experienced - or at least a dancey version of it. We asked Juliana a few questions about the band's creative process.... Click on the title for more
