oneder 1

The Oneder Old Blue is a low to medium gain overdrive that’s transparent but can get very saturated and even heavy via the interaction of the Level and Gain knobs (on the top) with the Weight one (bottom right), which adds girth and saturation. The other knob on the bottom left is Range, which controls the amount of treble.

The clipping switch in the center of the case provides three voicings (up from just two in V2), for a wide tonal palette:

  • “+” delivers a more modern, open, gainy, and bright tone
  • “-“ gives us a slightly darker and smooth sound, reminiscent of vintage amps
  • “V2” is the new mode that’s a compromise between the previous voices, and probably the most amp-like one.

The differences in tone are most noticeable when the Gain knob is cranked.

V2 of this pedal made our aggregate list of the best guitar pedals of 2023.

The Oneder Old Blue Drive V1 is almost identical to V2, with the exception of the voice toggle, which only has two options instead of three.
