REVV Dirtdog

The Revv Dirt Dog is a soulful, amp-like overdrive born from necessity. When Joey Landreth recorded The Bros. Landreth’s Dog Ear album, he relied on a heavily modified vintage-inspired amp he built himself—a small, quirky Fender Princeton-style circuit that delivered exquisite, harmonically rich breakup but proved too fragile for touring. Revv co-founder Dan Trudeau collaborated with Landreth to capture that volatile, “about-to-explode” magic in a rugged, all-analog pedal.

The Dirt Dog’s four-knob layout is intuitive but deeply interactive. Gain and Level form the pedal’s dynamic core: low Gain settings with Level cranked yield a chimey, edge-of-breakup boost, while pushing Gain delivers thick, three-dimensional mids and velvety sustain . The Bite knob governs treble response and presence, adding cut and sparkle. The Tone control sweeps the midrange voice broadly—from a snarly, punchy attack to a chewier, more scooped character .

What distinguishes the Dirt Dog is its extraordinary touch sensitivity. It cleans up beautifully with guitar volume and responds to every picking nuance, making it equally suited for fingerstyle intimacy, singing slide work, or full-band roar . Manufactured in Canada with top-mounted jacks and true bypass, it’s a compact, road-ready workhorse .

For players seeking vintage-voiced, player-responsive overdrive that feels alive under the fingers, the Dirt Dog delivers the analog soul of a boutique vintage amp in a pedalboard-friendly format.
