The J. Rockett PXO is a Signature Overdrive (with boost) designed in collaboration with Phil X, known for being the main guitar force behind Bon Jovi’s music.
This pedal is a comprehensive tool for tone sculpting, akin to a studio-quality channel strip for your guitar, built with the best possible components – hence the high price tag.
It features two sections: Drive and Boost, each featuring a dedicated footswitch and significant controls.
Let’s take a look at what each knob does
Boost Section:
- Tilt EQ: Adjusts character—more treble (clockwise) or more bass (counterclockwise).
- Level: Adds output to boost your signal.
Drive Section:
- Volume: Controls how hard the pedal hits your amp, shaping tone and feel.
- Treble/Bass: Adjust top and bottom frequencies.
- Gain: Works interactively with Volume to set overall gain.
Additional Feature:
- Pre/Post Switch: Changes the cascading order of Drive and Boost sections.
- Dedicated Footswitches: Independent activation of Drive and Boost sections.
The PXO’s controls interact dynamically, offering endless tonal possibilities for stage and studio use.
