Inspired by the AnalogMan King of Tone, the legendary dual overdrive pedal that, one may say, started the trend of high-quality, multi-function dual-channel dirt boxes, the Chase Bliss Brothers AM overdrive is a reinterpretation and expansion of that circuit, designed in collaboration with its original creator, Mike Piera.
Also a dual-channel dirt box, the Brothers AM is a variant of the company’s original Brothers and retains an all-analog signal path while introducing new tonal possibilities, including a Beano Boost-inspired treble circuit and modern digital controls and presets.
Two 3-way toggle switches allow each channel to operate as a Boost, Overdrive, or Distortion for maximum flexibility (a feature available via internal switches in the King of Tone), while the typical Chase Bliss back panel provides a plethora of tweaks via 16 DIP switches.
Beyond its technical specs, the project carries deeper significance. During a visit to Analog Man’s workshop, the team—each deeply influenced by Mike’s pedals—purchased one of his creations, a testament to his enduring legacy.
