The NativeAudio Rising Sun is an analog optical but digitally controlled optical tremolo with four waveforms and tap tempo voiced after vintage units. It has four subdivisions and ramping, which allows acceleration from the slow to the fast tempo.
A central toggle switch lets the player choose between Tap mode, which gives you tap tempo functionality with four available subdivisions, or Ramp mode, which allows the user to set a slow and fast tremolo speed and accelerate between the two, emulating a classic rotary speaker cabinet.
V2 brings the following updates:
- Updated layout for improved control
- +13 dB of boost for dynamic preamp capabilities.
- Expanded rate control for wider range of speeds.
- Half-note division to access slower tremolo speeds.
- Optional 9-18VDC operation for extra headroom.
- Lower noise for optimal performance.
- Updated bypass design to maintain signal integrity.
Run by Native American Mike Trombley, NativeAudio is committed to help musicians discover their sound while supporting the Native American communities (Mike is an active member of the Blackfeet Nation).
Because of this, all the company’s artwork is inspired by his tribal heritage, and this is the story behind the art of the Rising Sun.
The Blackfeet pitched their teepee doors towards the eastern sky. Every morning, the Blackfeet would open their doors so that their prayers could travel to the Rising Sun, which would help the sun (Natosi) reach above the horizon for another day. The Rising Sun artwork looks towards the eastern sky as the sun rises over the horizon.

NativeAudio Rising Sun V2, Builder’s Notes
The Rising Sun is an optical tremolo pedal that expands on the technology found in vintage amplifiers. The intuitive interface features volume, waveform, and depth controls for a warm-analog tremolo experience. The Rising Sun includes two modes of operation: tap and ramp. Tap mode implements four sub-divisions for tap-tempo capability. Ramp mode allows for smooth transition between two selectable tremolo speeds.V2 Updates:
· Updated layout for improved control over your sound.
· +13 dB of boost for dynamic preamp capabilities.
· Expanded rate control for wider range of speeds.
· Half-note division to access slower tremolo speeds.
· Optional 9-18VDC operation for expanded headroom.
· Lower noise for optimal performance.
· Updated bypass design to maintain signal integrity.

About the Artwork:
The Rising Sun is a tribute to my Blackfeet (Amsskaapipiikuni) heritage. The Blackfeet were nomadic, but their movement wasn’t aimless. They traveled with a purpose, knowing where food and resources were plentiful. The teepee (niitoy-yiss) served as shelter because of its ability to fit the nomadic lifestyle of the Blackfeet. When setting up camp, the Blackfeet pitched their teepee doors towards the eastern sky. Every morning, the Blackfeet would open their doors so that their prayers could travel to the Rising Sun, which would help the sun (Natosi) reach above the horizon for another day. The Rising Sun artwork looks towards the eastern sky as the sun rises over the horizon.
