At NAMM 2025 British amp maker Marshall has unveiled the Overdrive Pedals Collection, distilling some of its most popular amp tones into five stompboxes. The lineup includes the 1959, DSL, JCM800, JCM900, and JVM, each capturing the tone of the namesake amplifier.
Fully analog and designed to be played through clean amps, these pedals share the same one-footswitch / four-knob format and the typical Marshall gold and black color scheme.
The 1959 delivers warm ’60s and ’70s rock tones, the DSL offers classic British overdrive, and the JCM800 provides high-gain distortion for rock and metal. The JCM900 suits modern rock with versatile high-gain sounds, while the JVM is the most flexible, packing multiple tonal options.
Plenty of pedals have tried to encapsulate the sound of a Marshall amps. In the case of the Marshall Overdrive Pedal Collection, we can only expect a level of authenticity approved by the creators of the amps that started it all.
