Ernie Ball Ambient Delay

Ernie Ball‘s  Expression series takes the wah/volume pedal chassis concept and applies it to other effect types, therefore allowing a sweepable foot control for some paramters.

The Ambient Delay has standard knobs to control the feedback, delay time, and reverb level, but the foot sweep provides a throttle control for the amount of ‘mix” of ambient texture in the overall sound. The effect is actually a combination of delay and plate reverb, so any fluctuation in the sweep also adds and subtracts how much reverb comes across in the tone. The effect also has a connection to add an external tap tempo controller.

Here are some videos of the Ernie Ball Ambient Delay.

The Expression Series Ambient Delay provides a hybrid of digital delay layered with plate reverb, for everything from slap-back to extended repeats. It features settings for delay time (50ms – 1s), delay feedback, reverb level, and a foot-sweepable effect level control to create anything from subtle textures to ambient soundscapes, all without taking your hands off the guitar.

Each component was carefully designed for the highest sound quality and performance available. The sleek, compact design maximizes playability, while minimizing the footprint on your pedal board. Unlock a virtually limitless tonal palette that simply can’t be matched by traditional “on/off” stompboxes.

The Expression Series’ innovative design provides continuous, usable tonal control at your feet throughout the pedal’s entire range of motion without coloring your tone. The pedals provide complete signal transparency in the zero position. Plug in and play this versatile new tool and unleash your creative expression.

The sealed aircraft aluminum chassis offers a mechanically and electrically superior experience by protecting internal components from outside elements. Leveraging the 40+ year heritage of our volume pedal, the usability, easy-access controls, and no-slip grip have been incorporated and modernized.
