Greece has some interesting things going on stompbox-wise, and Side Effects is certainly contributing with some pedals leaning towards the atmospheric and ambient-y.
Based in glorious Athens, this is a tiny operation (they use the word ‘DIY’ to describe their business model) building small batches of beautifully hand painted original pedals, while also indulging in lots of clones of classic circuits – that’s how you learn, right?
Check out these two videos of their latest products: the first one (called Old Man of the Mountain) is a simple belton brick reverb with an fx loop that opens up an unlimited amount of possibilities on manipulating the reverb tails. The second is an atmospheric delay/modulation effect called ‘Mocking Bird.”
