Barcelona-based pedal brand Decibelics has built a name for itself initially through one of the best-regarded Klon clones on the market (and a mini one at that!), and more recently with a recreation of the Bixonic Expandora – both pedals also exist in dual-channel format. This new mini pedal is the company’s take on the Blues Breaker variant.
Like all the Decibelic stompboxes, the Rivus is handmade. It employs a combination of thru-hole, New Old Stock components, and a low-noise custom-designed PCB board to deliver the transparent yet warm, smooth, and dynamically driven tones of the original circuit it takes inspiration from.
To the classic Gain, Level and Tone knobs the Rivus adds a few controls to expand the original’s sonic palette:
• the 3-way CLIP Switch shapes the overdrive’s character through three clipping modes
• the 2-way MODE Switch lets you choose between the two versions of the MK1 circuit (Pre and Post 1995)
• an Internal HIGHER GAIN Switch, allows for different levels of overdrive intensity.
The Bypass Footswitch features boot memory and momentary mode to sweeten the deal further.
