The Caroline KILOBYTE-2000 is the ultimate evolution of the company’s lo-fi delay pedal, initially introduced as the Kilobyte in 2013.
In the pedal’s circuit, which is based on the infamous yet awesome PT-2399 chip, the usual Drive, Level, Time and Feedback knobs are joint by three new controls in the shape of smaller black knobs:
- The Sharpness knob adjusts preamp gain and tone.
- The Modulation control adds a subtle modulation to the repeats
- The Havoc Amount knob adjust the intensity of the momentary Havoc effect triggered by the right footswitch
Two other new features are the FX Loop that lets users process only the repeats or achieve a fully wet output, and an upgraded “invader” repeater preamp that boosts repeats up to 5x louder while keeping the dry signal pristine.
Other features include tap tempo and trails bypass. A dedicated effects loop.
