In just a few years, Nashville’s Mythos Pedals was able to build a solid reputation for their roster dirt boxes and gain pedals, so much so that Riff City Guitar asked them to collaborate on an exclusive overdrive to be launched at NAMM 2019 – you’ll be able to see it at our Stompbox Booth #3424!.
Named Runestone, the device is a more modern and flexible reinterpretation of the company’s now discontinued Daedalus, a drive voiced after the Bluesbreaker circuit.
Here’s the list of the tweaks that were made to improve it:
The output has been increased so you can easily push your amp or use the pedal as a low gain booster, the tone has been reentered and treble reduced for a natural sounding drive, and the gain has been tweaked for more useful control.
Here’s the video company owner Zach Broyles shot at our NAMM Stompbox Booth, followe by the presentation video of it.
See more of our pedal demo shot at NAMM 2019 with 60 Cycle Hum here. We also have a list organized by kind of effect in two pages here and here.
The Runestone brings back the Daedalus pedal and takes it to new heights. At it’s heart the Runestone is very similar to it’s predecessor but there are a few tweaks to make it more useful for every player. The output has been increased so you can easily push your amp or use the pedal as a low gain booster, the tone has been reentered and treble reduced for a natural sounding drive, and the gain has been tweaked for more useful control. The Runestone has that classic “bluesbreaker” drive sound but it is the perfect first stage overdrive and plays well with other gain pedals.
