Fender Hammertone Space Delay

2022 has seen the release of an uncommon number of Roland Space Echo clones (and also an updated version by the original manufacturer) and the Fender Hammertone Space Delay is the most affordable and streamlined of them all.

One ninth of the new series of affordable pedals by the guitar giant, the Space Delay offers the goods of that venerable unit, in a compact case: warm, analog-style saturation and the charming warble that takes us back to the days of tape.

The 3-way Pattern toggle rearranges the configuration of the virtual tape heads, creating different delay patterns, while the Mod switch activates the modulation simulating the tape’s wow and flutter.

At $99, this is a solid deal for guitarists interested in a taste of delays with a vintage and spacey flavor. We added to our article about the best tape-style delay pedals.
