New Pedals at Summer NAMM 2021

On July 15 and 16 we will be at the Nashville Music Center for the 2021 edition of Summer NAMM with a 30’x10′ booth full of pedals (the Delicious Audio Stompbox Booth!). Among the 19 manufacturers involved there are some that many of you may not be too familiar with – this article is about them.

We created an interactive gallery featuring one pedal for each one of these “emerging” pedal companies.

Bardic Audio Devices Bootgazer
$175 | Two blended fuzzes followed by a modulated reverb! The two fuzzes are of the Russian and Fuzzrite variety, and are joined by a clean 20db boost to reintegrate some of the dry signal. The delay section is equipped with trails and a modulation circuit. Each effects has its on/off footswitch, while the center one changes the routing order.

Dogman Devices Air Delay+Fuzz
$290 | An analog-voiced echo/fuzz with a delay ranging from short clean slapback to a dirty, infinite ambiance. The Storm switch engages the mid-delay fuzz circuit, which interacts with the repeats to create brain-melting sonic soundscapes.

~$550 | A super-spacey, super-expensive and rather complicated stereo beast inspired by Brian Eno's "Music for Airplanes. With two delay times, two choruses, two feedback modes comng the many controls, it creates a range of effects from sci-fi to ambient.

PCP Pedals Ninurta Overdrive
$TBA | A highly modified and more aggressive clone of the Dawner Prince Red Box, this pedal delivers saturation ranging from overdrive to distortion. The unique mid shift contour knob, together with the tone control, add a wide EQ frequency scape. Its careful mix of clipping diodes deliver an amp-like tone.

$~285 | A fuzz beast that can recreate all sorts of fuzz sounds thanks to two clipping stages (first LED + Silicon, then Germanium + LED + Silicon) preceded by a boost and a three-way EQ section for tone sculpting. The mids knob is particularly effective in creating scooped or midrangey tones that cut through the mix.

$~300 | A transparent and dynamic hand-built overdrive ideal for blues. The extra boost (with dedicated footswitch + knobs) and four toggle switches allow for noteworthy flexibility. With names like Body, Grease, Head, and Sheen, each toggle confers a different character to the tone, putting at the guitarist's fingertips a musical selection of voices to mix an match to taste.
