Walrus Audio Mako D1 MkII

Released in 2020, the D1 was Walrus Audio’s first Mako pedal, a compact, Stereo in/out, multi-function delay with five, studio-grade, high-fidelity, custom-tuned programs. The company’s D1 MkII ups the ante with sonic enhancements, new features and an LED screen for easier setting navigation.

The main new feature is the ability to program, in Dual mode, different tap divisions on the Left and Right channels.

The Swell effect has a new feature that allows it to act as a side-chain effect, something mentioned in the Sweetwater video below but that remains rather mysterious.

MkI also offers a new GRANULAR DELAY algorithm (which chops up your repeats and reorganizes them randomly), which joins the ones found in MkI, listed below:

DIGITAL
Crystal-clear delay, perfect for rhythmic parts & ultra-defined echoes.

MOD
Unique modulated repeats with random LFOs that run at multiple rates.

VINT
Analog delay inspired tones with complex filtering applied to the repeats.

DUAL
Two delays in parallel, each with different time divisions.

REV
Reads the delay memory backwards creating a unique delay repeat.

Each delay program can be customized with modulation, tone, decay age and subdivisions then saved to any of the 9 on-board preset slots or 128 via MIDI.

We added the D1 to our list of Best Multi-Mode Delay Pedals, check it out!
