Malekko Goatkeeper – 2-Stage Polyrhythmic Tremolo

Malekko Goatkeeper We somehow missed the release of the Malekko Goatkeeper last year (probably because the company didn't send the pedal to any of the YouTubers we follow!) so we need to send a YUGE thank you to Dennis Kayzer for posting a video of it on his channel, because this is a rather unique pedal.... Review: Malekko Charlie Foxtrot Granular Delay – by Gearphoria

Malekko Heavy Industry is a truly cutting edge Portland based company that manufactures both pedals and modular synths - they are such skilled engineers that none other than Roland asked them to create their Aira Series 500 line for Eurorack (chief engineer Josh Holley recounts how all that unfolded in this interview).... Malekko board at the Montreal SBE 2017

Malekko Heavy Industry is one of those pedal manufacturers that likes to think outside the box, and their latest effects have been more and more interesting and unusual. They also participate to most of our events, so we thought it would be cool to highlight the pedals in the board they have sent to our latest three Stompbox Exhibits.... Click on the title for more

Ghost King’s guitar pedals on “Bones”

13592803_1263358687022711_6446972213589363482_n[1]Ghost King's 2016 debut album "Bones" impressed our friends at The Deli so much that they made it NYC Record of the Month back in April. The album features what could be seen (and heard) as an noteworthy recap of the (indie) guitar rock sound of the '90s, with references to bands as disparate and glorious as Sonic Youth, the Violent Femmes, Pavement, The Pixies and Guided by Voices. Considering the wide range of guitar tones in the record, we thought band songwriter and guitarist Carter McNeil might have something interesting to say about what inspired the record and what gear made it possible.... New Pedals at NAMM: Malekko Sneak Attack Compressor with Tap Tempo

sneakattack Another very cool new pedal that was announced at NAMM ’16 is the Malekko Sneak Attack. A unique take on compression, at its core the Sneak Attack is a very warm-sounding VCA analog compressor that can be used in some inspiring ways, not just completely on or off. While it does standard compression very well, it’s when the pedal is used in other ways that it really shines.... Click on the title for more

New Pedals: Malekko’s Scrutator bit and sample rate reducer

CNbbDcbUsAAZv4W No guitarist that is or was a Ministry fan can help but being intrigued by Malekko Heavy Industries' stompbox insanity (the company's owner is the band's bassist Paul Barker). Although bit reduction pedals - also called "lo-fi" - are not for all (tone purists in particular), Malekko's latest stompbox Scrutator offers a welcome upgrade to the concept, making it more musical and flexible than ever.... Malekko Spring Chicken – Spring Reverb Emulation

Many forget that Malekko (run by Ministry's legendary guitarist Paul Barker) was one of the first manufacturers to venture in the market of mini-pedals (which are all the rage these days) and that their tiny "Spring" pedal was one of the first (if not THE first) successful attempts to put a reverb inside an enclosure that's half the size of your regular stompbox....
