The Surfy Industries SURFYBEAR CLASSIC REVERB UNIT is a pedal that recreates the sound of the vintage Fender 6G15 Reverb Unit. The pedal is large in size due to its use of a full-size spring reverb tank. The pedal also uses JFET transistors instead of tubes, which are the original components of the Fender 6G15 Reverb Unit. Surfy Industries claims to preserve the same circuit and sound quality as the original device, but with a smaller size and lower cost.
The pedal has three knobs that control the reverb effect: Dwell, Mixer, and Tone. Dwell adjusts the length of the reverb, Mixer balances the dry and wet signals, and Tone changes the brightness or darkness of the sound. The pedal also has a switch that turns the reverb on or off, and a jack that allows connecting an external on/off footswitch. The pedal has a wooden enclosure covered with Fender-style tolex, which is a vinyl material that gives a retro look. Available in three colors: blonde, brown, or black.
