The Spaceman Apollo VIIb is a compact overdrive and preamp pedal, derived from the Voyager tremolo series. It delivers medium-gain overdrive with natural tone, sparkling highs, and rich harmonic textures.
This revamped version corrects deviations made after Spaceman founder Zak Martin’s 2019 departure, restoring his intended design upon his 2024 return.
Unlike the original Apollo VII, the VIIb features different OpAmps, clipping LEDs, and voicing. It includes Gain, Level, and Tone controls, plus a three-position clipping switch:
- VOY for original semi-symmetrical LED clipping,
- ALT for exclusive asymmetrical clipping with smoother breakup, and
- + for diode-less boost with sparkling, louder tones.
Built with hand-selected, through-hole components, true-bypass switching, and analog circuitry, the VIIb is entirely handcrafted in Portland, Oregon.
This limited edition pedal is offered in signed and numbered Blue, White, and Black finishes, with the Black version featuring a vintage aerospace indicator light.
