PLBR Effects Narwhal Distortion Fuzz

Here’s a new Fuzz/Distortion by Croatian manufacturer PLBR Effects – it’s called the Narwhal – featuring two gain stages with 3 clipping options each (Silicon, No Diodes and LED Diodes).

An EQ section with two different shapes gives you extra tone shaping options, while the TB switch bypasses the EQ circuit entirely.

Narwhal distortion fuzz comes from a family of BMP type pedals. Like it’s big brother Maritimus, it brings numerous possibilities dialing in your favorite fuzz tones. Both gain stages are switchable between 3 clipping options – from compressed silicon fuzz tones to more open distortion, 2 unique EQ shapes and a tone bypass switch that gives you unfiltered EQ raw angry fuzz tones.

Lifting the diodes from the first clipping stage (N position) switch makes it suitable for a bass guitar.

VOLUME – Controls the output volume

TONE – Controls the EQ sweep. Turning left increases the bass, right increases the treble. For different tone EQs check SHAPE control

FUZZ – Controls the amount of fuzz which increases the sustain when turned up

1st CLIP – Controls the first fuzz clipping stage that sets the base sound of the pedal.
1) Silicone diodes (stock) – compressed fuzz sound
2) no diodes – less compression, suitable for bass guitar (Warning: high increase in volume)
3) LED diodes – more open, distortion like sound

2nd CLIP – Controls the second fuzz clipping stage
1) Silicone diodes (stock) – compressed fuzz sound
2) no diodes – less compression (Warning: high increase in volume)
3) LED diodes – more open, distortion like sound

*clipping options will provide 9 distinct sound combinations

SHAPE – Changes the shape of the EQ which is controlled with TONE control
1) Punchy mids
2) Heavily scooped mids

TB (tone bypass) – disengages theEQ of the pedal, sound is raw and unfiltered
