Chinese company NUX, which has been on a roll with well-received amp simulation pedals for a few years now, unveiled at NAMM 2025 a new entry in that family, the NUX Amp Core Studio, scheduled for release later in 2025.
Based on the popular (and larger) Amp Academy, the Amp Core features 26 amp simulations (including a few for bass), 33 built-in Impulse-Response-based cabinet simulations of existing cabs, and 12 empty slots for custom IRs.
A new feature is the 3 Scene Modes, a system that allows you to switch between different amp tones in real-time. a Send/Return FX loop lets you integrate this pedal with other effects on your board, while the Built-in Noise Gate, EQ, and Patch Level adjustment facilitate extra fine-tuning of your tone.
The free software Amp Core Studio allows for advanced sound editing and customization.
