It’s named after the Italian word for “envy” because that’s the feeling it’s designed to generate among those who don’t own it, and features a carefully calibrated set of controls to allow any player to craft a variety of tones driven by a classic op-amp clipping section.
- Gain: Boosts from subtle to 40db of focused amplification.
- Voice (Switch): Adjusts frequency response—bass boost (down), high shelf (up), or flat (middle).
- Sustain: Limits signal from boost to clipping stage.
- Tone: Active control to cut through the mix.
- Level: Final output adjustment.
- Output (Internal): Intermediate control set at 50% by default.
Encased in a beautiful candy green finish, this is the first release under a new series appropriately named “Seven Sinful Tones,” all featuring art from influential 16th Flemish printmaker Pieter van der Heyden.
