The Mythos NV-9 Pro Overdrive is a Tube Screamer variant that doesn’t reinvent the green overdrive’s tone but expands its range through two push buttons: Lows and Clip.
The circuit delivers an authentic TS tone when both buttons are in the up position.
The Lows switch pushes up the lower frequencies, delivering a more natural sound with less focus on the mids.
When engaged, the Clip button removes from the circuit the classic stock Silicon Soft Clipping, offering a diode-less, op-amp-based sound that’s a lot louder, more open, and more dynamic.
Internally, the Envy features a socketed RC4558P chip which can be easily swapped with any similar dual op-amp for a more custom tone and character.
