The Jam Pedals Rattler Mk.2 is an updated version of the company’s highly regarded RAT-style distortion pedal. While Mk 1 featured the legendary (and now almost impossible to find) LM308 chip found in the vintage RATs, for this new version the Jam team designed their own custom op-amp that delivers the same tube-amp character as the original.
Sporting an extra footswitch and 2-way toggle, Mk 2 allows the player to engage a mid-boost circuit placed before the distortion to add an extra bite to your tone when necessary. The boost’s frequency can be controlled via an internal trim pot that affects level and bass content.
The toggle delivers two voices with distinct qualities: the original asymmetrical clipping and a new symmetrical one.

Jam Rattler Mk.1
Using the coveted LM308 chip, the Jam Pedals Rattler delivers dialed-in, refined RAT tones in a boutique construction with hand-painted graphics. In 2021, the Rattler was the victor of the Andertons TV blind RAT shootout!

JAM pedals’ unabashed distortion monster.
We pulled out all the stops to make sure the Rattler will get you all the amazing tones of great early 80s ProCo RAT® distortion boxes and put in the time and R&D to make it more responsive to picking and fretting nuances resulting in an open, dynamic, overdriven tube-amp feel!
Its asymmetrical clipping circuit, carbon comp resistors and of course the legendary NOS LM308N chip, the featured star of this design, are the main ingredients of a great recipe resulting in the Rattler shining through any rig, whether modern or vintage.
