Gamechanger Audio Plus Pedal II

The original Plus Pedal was one of those things that felt like a secret weapon — piano-style sustain for any instrument, wrapped in a brass footpedal that made you feel like you were doing something physical. It wasn’t a freeze pedal. It was smarter. It grabbed the tail end of your playing and held it there, organic and alive.

The Gamechanger Plus Pedal II keeps that soul and rebuilds everything around it.

What stayed.

The brass pedal is still there — gradual optical control, smooth across its whole range. The core idea hasn’t changed: press down after a note or chord, and the pedal captures the tail of your sound and sustains it. It’s still a “smart looper,” not a glitchy freeze. It still works on guitar, synth, violin, whatever you plug in. The housing is still tour-tough.

What changed.

The engine is completely new. The original’s spectral sampling was good. The Plus II’s is best-in-class — faster, more accurate, better at preserving timbre and dynamics. No artifacts. No glitches. Just clean, natural sustain.

The controls expanded significantly.

  • There’s a Layers knob now — 1 to 10 layers, or infinity for endless stacking.
  • Auto Layer Catch lets you keep your foot parked and just play; the pedal catches and layers new notes automatically.
  • Hold and Decay give you deeper control over how layers enter and fade.
  • There’s a Resonance knob for adding upper and lower harmonics to all active layers.
  • A Tone knob too.

The I/O got a serious upgrade. The old TS input is now a combo XLR/TS jack with a built-in mic preamp. Plug a microphone directly in — no extra gear needed. There’s a switchable stereo effects loop with a three-position switch: pre, post, or inside the wet signal only. There’s even a kill-dry switch for semi-acoustic setups.

The optional footswitch unlocks three new modes:

  1. Wet Only (dry signal gone),
  2. Latch (always-on for auto catching),
  3. Hide (conceals the dry signal when you press the brass pedal — the audience only hears the layers).

And there’s visual feedback now — a circular halo display that shows the volume of all active layers in real time.

The bottom line.

The Plus Pedal was a modern classic. The Plus Pedal II is what happens when you take a great idea and give it the engine, controls, and connections it always deserved. Shipping starts August 2026. £348.

The Gamechanger Audio Plus Pedal is one of those devices that do one thing no other device does, and do it well.

As its shape might suggest, it offers piano-style sustain not just for guitar, but for all instruments, through a clever automatic looping algorithm.

Check out the videos below. More info about the pedal at the bottom of the page and here.

PLUS Pedal is a effect unit that generates sustain for notes, chords and other sounds played on the instrument.

The PLUS works based on a new method of digital sound processing we call Real Time Audio Sampling and looping. Instead of creating tones using an oscillator and filter based synth engine, RTS (Real Time Sampling) works by creating a smooth, circular loop out of a source signal that is recorded as you go. Think of it as a Smart Looper that only catches the last half of a chord or note and then uses that short audio snippet to create a continuous tone.
