Founder and lead guitarist of prog-metal band Animal as Leaders, Tosin Abasi has recently unveiled the first pedals under his company Abasi Concepts. It’s a flexible high gain overdrive called Pathos he engineered with the help of Brian Wampler of Wampler pedals.
Voiced after the classic sound of American tube amps, the Pathos has a three bands EQ and a toggle switch that controls the voicing, featuring the options “Smooth” and “Edge.”

The volume and gain controls expand your palette; all-out distortion, front-end tube boost or saturating a modelling amp tone, you’ll find your sweet spot. Finally, with the help of Brian Wampler, the Pathos’ powerful EQ controls unlock the true potential of your tone. Carefully voiced to sound as musical as possible, you’ve got glassy top-end, commanding midrange and a hefty bass response on tap.
