The Lethargy is one of the pedals from a new series recently unveiled by Athen’s (the Greek one) Dreadbox FX, a boutique builder that hit it big in the desktop synthesizer world in the last decade or so.
This purple beauty represents a very peculiar approach to the phaser effect designed to work with both line and instrument signals (read: any output) and also compatible with CV-controlled devices like Eurorack thanks to its 3 patch points. It’s an 8 stage phase filter featuring two different LFO wave options (triangle and square, accessible through a toggle switch).
The Manual knob allows you to set the degree of the initial phase shift, while the balance between that static “phased” sound and the one affected by the LFO can be controlled through the Amount knob.
The LFO’s Rate and Feedback can then be controlled through the two dedicated bottom knobs.

Lethargy derives from the greek word for forgetfulness, “Lethe”. It is a state of being drowsy and dull. The feeling of having little energy or of being unable or unwilling to do anything.
