Guitar Pedal News: Chaosound Anti-Effect Pedal

Coming to us out of left field is the Anti-Effect from Chaosound, a Polish company. This thing is right up my alley. It’s weird, it’s unpredictable, it’s unique. So what is it? The Anti-Effect destroys the sound by imitating electro-acoustic track damage. It breaks the sound in a chaotic way but allowing you to control the damage. For example, it allows you to imitate the sound of a malfunctioning guitar cable or… a burning amplifier! You can also create “thunder and lighting” effects, as well as bombing and crushing – yes, not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure.

It’s got controls for Rate, Sequence, and Depth. If the the Max Depth switch is engaged, expect chaos to enter your life rather abruptly, as this switch is the same as turning Depth all the way up. This is no distortion nor tremolo: regardless of whether your regular guitar pedal is a kind of distortion or any other modelling effect, the sound of Anti-Effect is most interesting when it is set at the end of the chain. Offering unprecedented signal demolition, the Anti-Effect allows you to achieve countless number of sound depending  on the way you play and the type of your guitar.
