The Tsakalis Mothership is a tube overdrive preamp pedal with two identical channels, each featuring a 4 band EQ and 3 gain modes (Low, Medium and High). What’s new and interesting, though, is that each channel also allows for two separate Volume/Gain configurations, which can be switched via a dedicated footswitch (A/B), separate from the channel footswitch. This provides the player with a setup including up to 4 readily accessible volume/gain options (two per channel), which sounds incredibly useful to us.
The pedal also features 3 dedicated cab simulations (which can be applied independently to each channel) and an FX loop, allowing the insertion of other effects between the two channels. Amp Out, Cab Out and Midi In round up the routing features.
The two channels’ in-depth controls allow for precise tonal shaping, while the 3 dedicated cab simulations, dual volume/gain configurations and FX loop provide added flexibility.
