The Spooky Circuits Wee-Bird Reeverb is one of those creative pedals that immediately charm you with their beautiful DIY artwork, and then proceed to conquer you by delivering a trove of inspiring sounds.
A 6-algorithm reverb with a Germanium gain stage, it’s presented as a “pedal for non-traditional reverb sounds,” which means, in practice, mostly lo-fi and saturated reverby tones.
Here’s the list of algorithms, selectable via the two 3-way toggles:
- Echoverb
- Modulated Spring Reverb
- Octave Up Shimmer
- Echoverb with Distorted Feedback
- LoFi Spring
- Octave Down/Up triggered by the input’s dynamics
The 3 black and 1 white knobs on the right side of the pedal control the reverb’s parameters, specifically reverb dwell time (eye icon), feedback AND depth (squiggle icon), delay time/effect speed (arrow icon), and mix (drop icon).
The left section of the pedal deals with the Germanium gain stage, delivering anything from subtle saturation to overdrive, and could be used on its own as a dirt box – that can be easily done by turning the mix knob to 100% dry.
A Pre/Post toggle allows rerouting of the gain stageĀ after the reverb, which always generates unexpected and potentially uncompromising results.
