Sometimes you don’t need to go too far to see new and unexpected things… completely unannounced, a board of mini-pedals showed up at our Summer NAMM Stompbox Exhibit. We were expecting two T-Rex boards, but the US distributor of the Danish manufacturer (Musiquip) actually sent us one board full of these tiny Chinese stompboxes called Outlaw.
As you surely know, there’s been a fierce competition in manufacturing smaller and smaller pedals, in particular after Chines manufacturer Mooer flooded the market with a gazillion affordable and great sounding stopboxes almost 1/2 the size your regular units.
There isn’t a lot of info out there about the Outlaw pedals, although you can tell from the pictures that the line already features eight effects, of which four are distortions, one is a tuner, and three are your regular chorus, delay and reverb. Anybody who tried them at our SNAMM 2014 Stompbox Exhibit had only good things to say about them (including reps of other pedal companies present at the booth!), and Guitar Center and Musicians Friend already carry them.
