Source Audio Encounter

As the direct successor to the acclaimed Source Audio Collider, the Encounter elevates the concept of a stereo, multi-algorithm delay/reverb combo into a full-fledged ambient powerhouse.

Building upon its predecessor’s legacy, the Encounter expands the palette with 12 richly detailed effects—six delays and six reverbs—ranging from classic tape echoes and hall reverbs to experimental shimmers, lo-fi textures, and atmospheric echoverb hybrids – here’s the full list of algorithms:

Reverb Engines:

  • Hall: A vast, smooth reverb for large, natural spaces.
  • Plate: A classic, bright, and dense metallic shimmer.
  • Room: A shorter, tighter reverb for adding subtle ambience.
  • Spring: Authentic, splashy tank emulation with characteristic bounce.
  • Shimmer: Creates ethereal, pitch-shifted harmonics for celestial pads.
  • Swell: A reverse-style effect that blooms after the initial note.

Delay Engines:

  • Digital: A pristine, clean delay with crystal-clear repeats.
  • Analog: Warm, dark repeats with simulated modulation and degradation.
  • Tape: Vintage-style echoes with wow, flutter, and saturation.
  • Noise Tape: Adds lo-fi character and tape hiss for a degraded sound.
  • Echoverb: A unique hybrid that blends delay and reverb textures.
  • Lo-Fi: Bit-crushed and filtered repeats for gritty, digital artifacts.
  • What truly sets the Encounter apart is its dual-engine architecture,

Its dual-engine architecture allows two of these effects to run in parallel for deeply layered soundscapes. Its deep yet intuitive control set includes full MIDI implementation via 5-pin DIN, expression pedal input for real-time parameter manipulation, and flexible routing options including a dedicated dry signal path for pristine tone preservation.

The onboard interface allows for quick saving and recalling of a number of favorite sounds directly on the pedal, but the true power is unlocked through MIDI integration. This enables seamless recall of all 128 presets for live performance or studio work, storing every parameter including engine types, routing, modulation, and effect blends.

Whether used subtly for depth or pushed into ethereal territory, the Encounter offers noteworthy versatility for crafting evolving pads, rhythmic delays, and immersive reverbs, all of which are synchable to your songs via its Tap Tempo functionality.

Designed for both live and studio use, it features switchable buffered or true bypass and 100% wet/dry blends, making it ideal for traditional guitar rigs or modern synth setups. For ambient explorers and sound designers alike, the Encounter is more than a pedal—it’s a universe of sonic possibilities.
