The Keeley Manis Overdrive is a modern evolution of the Klon-style circuit, with its softer, tube-like response with reduced high-end harshness.
Featuring the classic 3-knob controls of the original (Tone, Drive, Level) the Manis offers more tonal options through a combination of switchable germanium diodes (for a sound closer to the original Centaur) and germanium transistors (for increased compression and saturation).
A bass-boost switch lowers the frequency cutoff by an octave and increases output by 3dB, enhancing low-end response, particularly useful for single-coil guitars.
It also provides selectable true bypass or buffered bypass modes, with silent switching to eliminate noise. The buffer improves signal clarity in larger setups, while true bypass preserves tone in simpler rigs.
Built in Oklahoma City, the Manis supports 18V operation for increased headroom and uses a durable aluminum enclosure. It is available in three initial finishes: brushed silver, black (PGH exclusive), and gold (Guitar Center exclusive).
