An expanded version of the popular Focus Fuzz, the Great Eastern FX Focus Fuzz Deluxe is designed to deliver a variety of high-quality tones spanning from boost to fuzz with additional focus and clarity controls.
It takes the core vintage-style (yet original design) fuzz circuit and supercharges it with pro-level tweakability, making it one of the most versatile vintage fuzz pedals out there.
The big upgrade is the Fuzz / Drive / Boost knob, offering three distinct modes in one pedal for increased tonal options and dynamic range:
- Fuzz Mode – Classic, saturated Tone Bender-style fuzz with woolly, vintage textures.
- Drive Mode – A tighter, more overdrive-like distortion, retaining note clarity for chords.
- Boost Mode – A clean(ish) volume boost that pushes your amp or other pedals while adding slight grit and works great before other drives.
The Focus Control, inherited from the original circuit, tightens the low end and enhances midrange clarity, preventing muddiness in a band mix across all three modes.
A final but important addition is the Overtone footswitch, which engages a midrange-focused tone that adds harmonic complexity and cutting power to your fuzz/drive/boost sound, excellent for cutting through the mix during solos or louder parts.
